From Mayl 2008 edition of "Puppy Tales", by John Hodges MAY 2008 Only a week to our tracking season starts, The first trial for the year is at Haddon, at the Victorian Field and Game Clubs grounds held by Knox Obedience Dog Club. It will be a small trial as they only have 22 entries for the whole weekend. 11 of these are our members from Ballarat. I believe the hot weather and the cost of fuel have kept entrants away. So hopefully by the next issue of puppy tails we could have three new tracking champions as well as other passes. Hopefully it will rain before the competition as the conditions for all trackers at the present time is shocking. The Victorian Canine Association has asked us to help with the testing of their tracking judges, which will be held at Haddon on Friday and Saturday 27th/.28th of June. We will be out there training so this will not be problem for us. So till next time keep your leads loose and your noses to the grounds. Tracking meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month in the clubrooms at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome. -John.
