NEW MEMBERS PROCEDURE

Welcome to the Ballarat Dog Obedience Club

YOUR FIRST DAY - SUNDAY


1.     ENROLMENT
     9.15am – 9.45am
          • Complete Membership Application Form
          • Pay Fees. Junior-$27 ; Single-$35 ; Dual-$45 ; Family-$50
          • show us your dog's current vaccination certificate (The Membership Officer only needs to view the vaccination certificate to verify current vaccination. You keep the certificate)

NO VACCINATION CERTIFICATE - NO TRAINING

Note: you will receive a copy of the “New Members Handbook – part 1” and our monthly club newsletter “Puppy Tales” . Also, a printed copy of our club’s constitution is available if required or it can be viewed on our web site - view

2.     ORIENTATION      10.00am – 10.15am.
A video and discussion giving a brief overview of our club and some basic rules.

3.     BASIC OBEDIENCE      10.15 – 11.00 am.
If there are five or more beginners, a special "first day beginners" class will be conducted. Otherwise, new members will enter their normal class (in most cases this will be class 1).

NEXT WEEK


1.     BEFORE CLASS
     9.45am - 9.55 am
         
Collect your new name tag (from the membership officer).    NO NAME TAG - NO TRAINING
          Pay your $2 training fee at the front window

Note: a copy of the “New Members Handbook – part 2” is also available

2.     ASSEMBLE AT THE CLASS SIGN     10.00am
           This is normally class 1. If you have a puppy, assemble at the "P" sign
           • Children (9 – 18 YEARS) assemble in the Junior Handlers Class area

Note:
All Children with puppies under six months may go into either the “Junior Handlers Class” or the mainstream “Puppy Class”
Children over 12 have the option of entering either Junior Handlers Class or mainstream obedience classes.
Children in the “Junior Handlers Class” MUST be supervised by their parent or a responsible adult who must be present for the whole class.

Obedience classes are 10 am to 11am each Sunday, except for long weekends and other designated days when the club hosts trials and competitions.
