Hello, my name is Spoticus and I am very proud
of myself and my Mum with my first win in CCD trials on
18th November 2007.
My first carer was a loving human who loved
and cared wonderfully for me, but then due to circumstances
beyond his control he was unable to care for me and I
was left with very unkind humans who starved me, butted
cigarettes out on my tail and I became a flea ridden uncared
for dog until my first carer found out and took me away
to try and find a decent home for me, but being an older
dog (2) the threat was there that I may not find a home
and we know what would have happened then. This story
would never have been told!
Luckily I found my present carers who love
and SPOIL me.
When we joined BDOC I was so happy all I
did was bark for the whole hour, but thanks to some very
caring, encpouraging instructors, especially Liz and Annette,
I received the perpetual encouragement trophy, so I kept
trying to learn.
I can remember when we were told to look
an grade 4 and that some day we would be there, Mum and
Dad would just look at each other and say no way, she'll
never be off lead or make it to grade 4.
Now I am in grade 4 and love the trials
and have two trophies and a beautiful blue sash, sothanks
to all concerned - thanks Heather and all the people on
Thursday nights - thanks Mum and Dad. Thanks dad for driving
us to school every Sunday.
To be truthful we never thought I'd get
out of grade 1. Even Mum is learning to cope with her
fear of dogs - well some days are better than others.
I have some bad memories in my life, but
the good ones outweigh them now.
I
love BDOC.
