I bought Remie from the RSPCA when she was six months of age and it was love at first sight; something which has never changed. I started tracking to give her a break from Obedience on her way to her CD title. This did help as she went on to get this title. She took to tracking like a duck to water, passing her “Prelim” at her first trial, thanks to many people. Unfortunately the day before attempting her “test 1” in tracking (Sept 2004), Remie had a stroke of the spinal chord for no apparent reason. She was paralysed from the waste down. Her left leg has now come good but she still limps on her right leg. She walks like a drunken crab.

Remie is not in any pain and she does not let it stop her from doing anything apart from jumping and Obedience. She had a course of acupuncture and controlled swimming. The vets are quite happy for her to do Tracking as it is a walking sport and she loves it. At five years of age she is too young to vegetate. As long as Remie has Javae and me to love and pat her she is happy and so am I. We are looking forward to the 2005 Tracking season.
