Maisy adopted us in February 2006. I
had just had my favorite dog
put
down and was heartbroken. It was then I decided that
I wanted a good family dog and after much research decided
on Golden Retrievers.
As we were heading down to Pakenham
to look at a litter of pups, we came across a sign that
said " Golden Retrievers for sale". Well we
just had to have a look. There were 2 left, but when
I saw Maisy it was love at first sight and knew she
was coming home that very day.
She has been a delight to live with. She is so
easy going and really easy to train. She is loved by
all that meet her and when a dog has got too close for
her liking, she pulls a face but can't really be bothered
to do anything other than that.
We
have just graduated to class 3 and have been to about
3 tricks classes, which is a lot of fun.
I will also be having Maisy tested
to become a Therapy dog in the August/September intake
and am hoping to be able to use her for a school education
program that is about to start over the next few years.
She hopefully will be having
a litter of puppies at the end of this year and I will
be retaining one of her babies, so hopefully we will
have 2 Maisy's in the family.
But at the moment she loves doing her
obedience and tricks, and playing with her goldy sister's
and Cavalier brother, or just lazing around as long
as she is in the same room as me.
So if you see us around, come
on over for a chat and a cuddle and pet of Maisy. We
would both love that.
