For the past month I have
been helping the Scotsburn Primary School children train
a Golden Retriever puppy called Maggie.
Richard, the Principal, received permission from the
Education Department to bring Maggie to the school when
she was 8 weeks old; she belongs to Richard and his
family. Scotsburn Primary School has 25 students and
they have had the day to day care and training of Maggie.
I attended the school every Tuesday for one hour and
Maggie has now successfully completed and graduated
puppy preschool. I presented Richard and the children
with a graduation certificate and will continue to visit
the school once a month until the puppy is six months
old.
For me personally this was a very rewarding experience
and I was made very welcome by Richard and the school;
they were just beautiful children, a credit to their
school.
