My
name is Jett and I am a 2 year old black Labrador. I
live in Drysdale. My owners are Steve & Terri Rose
(handlers) and Casey, Lee & Caitlin. When I first
arrived I had Sonny and Indy as backyard mates but unfortunately
they both passed on before I was 12 months old. Sonny
taught me all about the beach and how to navigate the
waves and told me I was going to be an agility dog.
I now have a one year old yellow Labrador playmate Blaze.
He is a good friend and we get along well unless we
are going for a walk and he has an annoying habit of
pulling on my tail when we are running.
I love going to the beach and me and Blaze tag team.
My owners throw a ball into the surf and I go out and
retrieve it and pass it to Blaze so he can carry it
out of the water.
I
do agility training at Ballarat Dog Club (100 km drive
from my place) – I enjoy going there as the trainers
are knowledgeable and pass on lots of tips and advice
to my owners (and I can have a good sleep on the way).
I have been competing in VCA competitions
for nearly 1 year – with Steve in jumping and
with Terri in agility and have my JD and AD titles.
My first trial was at the State Trial
and I got a pass and first with Steve in Novice jumping.
I recently had a great time over in Perth at the NATIONALS.
It was my first plane trip and Blaze thought he better
come along and keep me company. After 3 days of competition
and qualifying, I was happy to be in the finals.
I was even more excited when I was able to win for Terri
in the Novice Agility final and come runner up for Steve
in the Excellent Jumping final in the 600 height category.
I liked the finals as there were so many people watching
and cheering.
